Yes, the app is free to download and does not add any extra charges for purchasing a permit.
You can use both credit and debit cards at the checkout, with the option to save them for future use. Additionally, you can also pay with Google Pay and Apple Pay.
You can purchase a permit in two ways: 1 - By searching from the “Permits” page, with the option to filter by location, manager, and day. 2 - By selecting a fishing zone from the map and then clicking on “Buy” from the information page of the zone.
You can purchase daily, annual, or outing package permits from all managers who choose SpotFish as their official retailer.
From the “Map” page, you can freely explore the entire world! To search for a specific zone, use the “Filters” button at the top left and apply a customized set of rules.
SpotFish provides you with all the details of a zone quickly and intuitively. Unavailable zones are shown in red on the map so that they are visible at a glance. When you open the details, the word “Closed” will be shown along with the relevant opening date.

The app requires access to your location exclusively to show you where you are in the world so that you can understand which fishing zone you are in or explore the zones around you. We do not save or share your location information with anyone.
If you do not have an internet connection, it will not be possible to complete the purchase procedure. All other app functions work offline, and you can check previously purchased permits to show them to the fishing warden even without an internet connection.
In the case of an erroneous purchase, contact support immediately by sending an email to info@spotfish.app.
Simply show the QR code associated with the permit you are using. This way, the fishing warden can check the history of your catches and accesses to verify their accuracy.
In general, yes, it is mandatory to record each outing/change of zone. Annual and seasonal permits with a predefined number of outings are based on the registration of at least one access during the day to count the day as 'used.' Therefore, we recommend always recording every outing to avoid penalties.
Although it is not strictly necessary for calculating remaining outings, we always recommend recording all catches. This is both for personal 'historical' reasons and to avoid penalties related to the regulations of individual reserves.
If you cannot find a particular reserve, it means it has not yet joined SpotFish. We recommend contacting the reserve directly and asking them to contact us.
Yes, with SpotFish, you can reserve limited-entry zones up to 3 months in advance.
